Happy Birthday to Me!

IMG_9469.JPG

I’ve been twenty-six for two days now. My actual birthday fell on a Thursday so I took the following Friday off work. Friday was a very busy day for my fiancé and I. We had been planning on buying a Macbook Pro for a few weeks, but we decided to go to the Apple store in Charlotte so that we could use a friend’s discount. I’m actually typing on it now and it’s very exciting to have a computer again. My last laptop died on me a couple of months after I graduated from college so it has been a while since I’ve had my own computer. We also did a little window shopping at Louis Vuitton and Tory Burch, before visiting a car dealership. We spent about an hour searching for the perfect family car to buy after we get married. I think we made a decision but I change my mind a lot so… this may not be a final decision. We’re not making any big purchases until after the wedding anyway so, I have time to figure out what I really want. My birthday gifts this year were so cute. I got an All-American Chocolate cake from Maxie B’s and Chrissy Teigen’s new cookbook from my mom. And I got three new charms for my Pandora bracelet; two from my babe and one from my dad. I can’t wait to start using that cookbook so that I can share my outcomes here!

Chapter 25 was amazing. Here’s to starting Chapter 26…

9/4/81: Bey Day

Today is Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter’s 33rd birthday so I would like to take some time to thank God for creating her and blessing her with so much talent. I would like to thank her mother, Tina, for teaching her “good home-training”. I would like to thank her father, Mathew, for teaching her “how to love her haters” and for making her run and sing at the same time during Destiny’s Child bootcamp. I would like to thank her sister, Solange, for teaching her “to speak her mind”. I would like to thank her husband, Jay Z, for “making her feel so goddamn fine”. I would also like to thank her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, for increasing the happiness and the drive that Beyoncé previously had and for sharing her mother with the rest of us fans.

And last but certainly not least, I would like to thank Beyoncé for being a vessel of strength and a ray of light in a world that can be so dark for so many of her fans. Thank you, Beyoncé, for singing the words that I am sometimes afraid to say. Thank you for going above and beyond to give your fans the best albums, visuals and stage shows that you can. Thank you for remaining a good person even though you have been blessed with so much success. Thank you for all that are and all that you do. I am so proud to be a member of the BeyHive. I hope God continues to bless you with many more years of success and happiness so that you can continue to bless us with many more albums and tours.
